Our Goals

The Goal of these reading designs is to help students grow in their reading to eventually become full independent readers who read to learn! It's hard for adults to remember a time when they could not read, so teaching young students to read can be a challenge! The lessons on this page provide free resources for parents and educators to aid their students in reading! The lessons begin with Emergent Literacy, teaching children to identify a phoneme. Then the lesson progresses to Beginning Reading, teaching children a more challenging phoneme. Next, the lesson covers Growing Independence and Fluency introducing children to read with fluency and comprehension. Lastly, the lessons are Reading to Learn, which covers teaching children to read on the expository level with new vocabulary and dense issues.
